Olympic Assistant: How an AI Assistant Enhanced the Digital Experience of Fans at Milano Cortina 2026

26. februar 2026
A case study of an AI assistant implementation with a high level of automation and user satisfaction.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games did not only deliver world-class sporting moments, but also introduced a new level of digital support for fans. In collaboration with 2Mobile, the Olympic Committee of Slovenia developed an advanced AI assistant that provided fast, reliable, and easy access to key information about the Games.

The result? More than 900 conversations, 80% positive user feedback, and approximately 90% of requests resolved automatically.

The challenge: Fast access to information during peak traffic periods

During the Olympic Games, website traffic increases significantly. Fans search for:

  • information about Slovenian Olympians
  • competition schedules
  • results and venues
  • information about the Slovenian House
  • side events and accompanying activities

The key challenge was to provide instant answers without prolonged browsing, while ensuring the system remained stable even during traffic peaks.

The solution: An AI assistant powered by boost.ai technology

2Mobile developed the Olympic helper for Olympic.si (Olympic Committee of Slovenia), which was available 24/7 on the Milano Cortina 2026 subpage from February 6 to February 22, 2026.

The AI assistant was powered by boost.ai technology and enabled:

  • understanding of natural language questions
  • structured delivery of verified information
  • stable performance with a high number of concurrent users
  • an intuitive and user-friendly experience

Users were able to ask questions naturally, and in most cases the system responded autonomously. For more complex queries, the assistant guided users to the relevant content within the website.

Results: High automation and a positive user experience

During the first weeks of operation, the AI assistant achieved:

  • more than 900 conversations in multiple languages
  • more than 1200 exchanged messages
  • an average conversation duration of 1 minute
  • around 90% of requests resolved automatically
  • more than 80% positive user feedback

The system operated continuously and without interruptions, even during the most significant sporting peaks. User behavior analysis also showed successful redirection of traffic to relevant subpages.

What Does This Mean for the Future of Digital Experiences?

The Olympic helper project confirms that conversational artificial intelligence is no longer an experiment, but a strategic tool for:

  • improving access to information
  • reducing pressure on traditional communication channels
  • increasing user engagement
  • optimizing digital processes

The AI assistant for the Olympic Games demonstrated how well-designed automation can enhance the user experience while enabling organizations to manage communication more efficiently.
